Can’t marry my filthy-mouthed girlfriend

Does she swear like a sailor? My mom would literally wash my mouth out with soap if I talked like some of the kids at school. It’s one thing to let a bad word slip when you stub your toe, but if she’s constantly dropping f-bombs, I can see why you wouldn’t want to bring her around your family or your boss. It makes her look really immature.

You have to ask yourself if she can turn it off. If she knows it’s your wedding day or a fancy dinner, can she speak like a normal, polite person? If she can’t control it at all, then that’s a problem. It shows she doesn’t care about how her behavior affects you or your reputation. Marriage is about compromise, and she needs to meet you halfway.

You need to have a serious talk with her before you put a ring on her finger. Tell her exactly how it makes you feel and why you’re embarrassed. If she gets defensive and calls you a prude or something, then she’s not ready to be a wife. If she really loves you, she’ll at least try to clean up her language so you can be proud to be with her.
